The Foundation’s mission is to support the improvement and enhancement of the Goodnow Library and to promote its use in Sudbury. We want to help the Library continue to develop as a 21st century library: a marketplace of ideas, a community meeting place, an innovative technological hub that serves library patrons of all ages and interests—anywhere and at any time.

Funding Opportunities for the Foundation
As the demand for library resources continues to increase annually, the Foundation will fund key initiatives that strengthen and transform the Library’s ability to serve the Sudbury community.
Technology Enhancements. The Library is experiencing a fundamental transition in the way its citizens gain access to information through technology. The Foundation will supplement town funding to help the Library and all its patrons meet the challenges presented by this dynamic environment.

TRANSFORMING THE CHILDREN’S ROOM. The Foundation is supporting the creation of a welcoming space for families with young children within the octagon, with special furnishings and book displays to encourage reading, gathering and new programming.

Community Gathering Place. The Foundation will make it possible for the Library to create inviting spaces and programs that will help to attract patrons of all ages to the Library.

Historic Preservation. The fundamental responsibility of libraries is the dissemination and preservation of knowledge. The Foundation will provide access to the rich local history and vast archival collection that is currently maintained by the Library.
How to Give to the Foundation
Building an Endowment. The Foundation’s goal is to establish a substantial and sustainable endowment that will provide on-going income to support the Goodnow Library. Funds will be raised from interested local residents, foundations and area businesses.
Funding Special Projects Today. In addition to building the endowment, the Foundation will supplement the Library's budget by funding special projects—technology, new children's furniture, historic preservation, etc. Contributions to these specific projects will help bring patrons of all ages into the Library and turn them into regular visitors.

Kinds of Gifts

Outright Cash Gifts. It does not get any simpler than this. Make checks payable to the Goodnow Library Foundation and mail to Goodnow Library Foundation, 21 Concord Road, Sudbury MA, 01776.

Securities. The Library is pleased to accept gifts of securities which offer special tax benefits. Please contact the Foundation Office at 978-639-3224 for the Library’s account numbers and broker information.

Corporate Matching Gifts. Many employers will match the gift their employees make to Goodnow Library Foundation. If your employer does have this program, your gift may be doubled simply by completing the matching gift form provided by your employer.

Corporate and Foundation Grants. Grants from corporations and foundations are an important source of funding for the Foundation. If you are associated with a corporation or foundation interested in giving to the Foundation, please call the Foundation Office at 978-639-3224.
